A GOOD MEAL is poetry. So perhaps it’s not so surprising to find a chef-poet. On the occasion of Union Square Café’s 25th anniversary, chef Michael Romano has written some haiku:
autumn chill
distant wood smoke
truffle dogs are digging
long-simmered stew
aged red wine
streetlights on at five
